Family

, there are so many who see "church" as just some one hour or so get-together on Sunday morning. "Church" only takes place when there's someone leading music, someone preaching, someone to entertain the kids, and someone to dismiss. For many people, that defines "church."

However, that's not the picture of the church we find in the New Testament. There's a few verses in the book of Acts that gives a great description of the first church ever, the church of Jerusalem.

"They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity — all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved" (Acts 2:46-47).

The original church, and the original idea of the church, is not defined as an EVENT. It's defined as a FAMILY. The church exists at all times, in all places, where God's people are found. And the biblical church, God's people, are always found together. Sharing food, sharing praise, sharing Jesus, sharing life. That's God's church - a FAMILY.

Looking for a family? Why not begin to be part of a family at LifePointe. Space is available!

Secret Church: August 27
We're having our first Secret Church, Friday night, August 27, from 7:00 until. What is Secret Church? It's a time of Bible Study and Prayer with no time limit. We'll get started at 7:00 pm and go until we're ready to go home. Secret Church is based upon the meetings so many Christians conduct in countries where Christianity is against the law and persecuted.
Secret Church is ONLY for those in our Youth Group and older. There will be NO child care or nursery available. We understand this may hinder some of you wanting to attend so we're letting you know well in advance so you can make your own arrangements for your children. Please understand this is NOT to limit your attendance but to provide an adult setting for serious study and prayer.
