Back to Center
Sometimes, <<First Name>>, it's seems as if we drift, doesn't it? As a church, and as Christians, we set out on a course of lifting high the name of Jesus and making a dent in the darkness of the world.
But many times, somewhere along the way in our quest, we're subtly pushed and nudged off center. People start to become a hindrance to our mission. We start seeing them as obstacles. "If only they would get with the program I could get this done." "Can't they see what I'm doing and where I'm headed?" "If it weren't for these people, I'd get this mission thing done!" You would think that if it weren't for people, we'd get this darkness thing eradicated quickly. Our mission would be done and we could move on to mission #2.
In the mission to lift high the name of Jesus and make a dent in the darkness, there are two necessities. One is the presence of the Holy Spirit in us and in our mission. He is the fire of our mission. But the second neccesity is PEOPLE! People are not hindering our mission, THEY ARE THE OBJECT OF OUR MISSION!
The goal of our mission is NOT to complete it, but to CONTINUE it! "You will be my WITNESSES, telling PEOPLE about me everywhere…" (Acts 1:8, NLT). See, our mission and people are not two separate issues. They are one in the same.
So, the next time you catch yourself thinking that people are in the way of our (and God's) mission, remember, that thinking is a sign of drifting. Stop where you're at and ask God to bring you out of that drift and back to center. Ask Him to let you see people as He sees people. Then get back to mission #1.
And, oh yeah, there is NO MISSION #2!
LifePointe Official Calendar
The picture above is from the office at LifePointe. It is the new "official" calendar. When you are scheduling events or reserving the building for your use, it's not official until it's on our "official" calendar! How do you get your event or reserve the building? Simple. Let Rob or Missy know and they will get it on the "official" calendar. We've started this to make sure we have no scheduling conflicts and also so we can let everyone know what's going on at LifePointe Church.
You can also find an online version of LifePointe's "official" calendar on our website. Here's a direct link to it:

Secret Church: September 24 – 8:00 pm
We're having our next Secret Church Friday, September 24, from 8:00 pm until. What is Secret Church? It's a time of Bible Study and Prayer with no time limit. We'll get started at 7:00 pm and go until we're ready to go home. Secret Church is based upon the meetings so many Christians conduct in countries where Christianity is against the law and persecuted. Bring some snack and drinks if you want. We won't stay too late!
Secret Church is ONLY for those in our Youth Group and older. There will be NO child care or nursery available. We understand this may hinder some of you wanting to attend so we're letting you know well in advance so you can make your own arrangements for your children. Please understand this is NOT to limit your attendance but to provide an adult setting for serious study and prayer.
