Spring Flees Quickly

<<First Name>>, looks like we’re going to have another typical Mississippi spring. And you know the typical Mississippi spring don’t you? Yeah, it lasts about one week, then summer hits and last for six months! The spring flowers pop up one day and then, it seems, they’re gone, just as fast as they appeared.

As we get older, the years seem to last about as long as the Mississippi spring. One year pops up and, it seems it’s gone just as fast. Before we know it, those years have escaped us and we wonder where they’ve gone. Makes up really consider what the Bible tells us in James: "How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone." (James 4:14).

Life goes by fast. What are you doing with yours?

Series Continues: American Idols
Our series: American Idols, will continue this Sunday. The first week the American Idol we talked about was money. The second week, the idol was "stuff-ism" or consumerism. Last week the idol was status. What will this week’s idol be?

Every Sunday night at 6:00 pm we have our Prayer and Share Small Group Experience. We study the Bible, the book of Romans currently, for a few minutes, then break out into small groups. If you haven’t experienced our Prayer and Share come this Sunday Night and give it a try. We know you’ll love it.

The Pointe Summer Camp
The Pointe will have it’s Summer Camp June 14-17, 2010, at Camp Armstrong, near New Albany, MS. The cost is only $50 per child, which is due by June 1. We’re excited about conducting our own camp. For more details see Michael Welch or J.W. Posey.

KidzPointe is our grades 1-4 ministry and TweenPointe is our grades 5-6 ministry.

There are some awesome things going on in our children’s ministries. Tisha, Angel, Brian, Amanda, and others are really making it happen there. You always know your children are having an exciting time at LifePointe!

Now the 3rd thru 6th Graders have their own DNow! We’re pushed for time on this so see Tisha Young Sunday for details.

Healing Hearts is a gathering of those divorced, going through a divorce, or children of divorce. Healing Hearts will have an informational get-together at the LifePointe Building on Saturday, May 29, from 2-5 pm. Ricky Harlow will be leading Healing Hearts. Help us get the word out.

Behind the Storm

<<First Name>>, as we get this newsletter ready to go, the weather is threatening. Forecasters are saying there’s the possibility of storms on the way. It’s the season for storms. One thing we can be sure of in springtime Mississippi is the coming of storms. But they always end. Sooner or later, behind the storm, the sun pops back out.

Sounds like life, doesn’t it? One thing we can be sure of in this life is storms are coming. They sneak up on us and overwhelm us. We may feel like we just might not make it through this one. But, even in the midst of your storm, you can always count on this. The Son is behind your storm, ready to fill your life with Himself. This storm will pass, and Jesus, the One who brings you through it, will shine His warmth into your life.

Christian recording artist Rebecca St. James will be in Amory April 22, at First Baptist Church, Amory, MS. Rebecca St James will be in Amory to debut her first movie, Sarah’s Choice and perform a concert! Gold Tickets are $50 and include private time( 5pm-6pm) with Ms St James, tickets to the event, and her latest cd. The concert is hosted by: Mission Pre Born and Sav-A-Life of Monroe County.
