We will have a swim party at my house this coming Tuesday night at 6:00p.m.  We will grill dogs and swim.  Every child should have an adult who STAYS with them.  I will be sending out a letter this Sunday with kids, be sure to ask for it if they get out without it.

KidzPointe – July 27

Jul 22, 2008   //   by tisha   //   news-old  //  No Comments

Hello everyone!

I am looking forward to this Sunday!  It is going to be awesome- the lesson is great and the activities line up with it well.  Not to mention that the activities include a science experiment.  I can’t wait.  We will also be doing something with shoestring potatoes(with another activity) and rubber bands.

It was very hot outside last week.  This week everything is inside except one activity and it should not take long at all.

All this month’s lessons on self-control boil down to this:  Think before you act.  The hardest time to think before you act is when you are really angry.  Even when your temper is on the rise, maybe even especially when your temper is on the rise, we need to have self-control.  This week we are focusing on CHECK YOUR TEMPER.  Kids should be able to understand these statements(in their own words and understanding) after conclusion of this week.  Self-control is choosing to do what you should do, not what you want to do.  God has a massive amount of self-control.  He doesn’t lose His temper.  Every move he makes is calculated and perfect.  God wants us to have self-control, even when we are angry.  Why?  Because the decisions we make when we get angry could change our lives forever.  We will focus this week on losing tempers, the choices we make and what we say and do matters.

Virtue:  Self-Control -choosing to do what you should do, not what you wnat to do.

Memory Verse:  “A man who can’t control himself is like a city whose walls are broken down” Proverbs 25:28 (NIrV)

Bible Story:  Check your Temper (Water from the rock) Numbers 20:1-12

Bottom Line:  Losing your temper always cost you something

Time permitted we will be digging a little more into prayer.

Just a note – pretty much all of the kids know their memory verse already!  That’s cool!
