May 31, 2008   //   by tisha   //   KidzPointe  //  No Comments

Bible Story:

Bottom Line:

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you’re more important than someone else.

Kids are keeping a journal this month and handing out U1ST coupons to people when they put others first. (I hope all parents have received some)

Activities during Kidzpointe – We will be making a memory verse snake. Oh – and pray that it doesn’t rain or Rob has a very LOUD mic.  Pop It (game) is in store for Sunday.

KidzPointe June FYI

Virtue : Humility – putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve.

Memory Verse"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." Philippians 2:3, NIV

Pointe taken -We all have a tendency to get a big head at times, adults and kids alike. A kid might be the star of the soccer team, have the biggest house in the neighborhood, or wear the coolest clothes in school. Whatever the case, we sometimes need a good dose of humility.

(1) Humility is putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve.

(2) Jesus is the ultimate example of humility. Not only did He model it, He frequently emphasized it in His teachings.

(3) He wants us to be humble, just as He was humble.

(4) When we show humility even when we think we deserve recognition or admiration, we put the focus on God rather than ourselves. This week, help kids realize that thinking they’re better than other people is not what God wants and is a really big mistake.
