We have a full weekend scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, December 29, we are hosting a Halo III video game tournament at our building. We’ll get started about 4 PM and continue until 10 PM. Halo III is a popular multiplayer video game. We’ll have 4 or more game consoles and big screen projectors set up for game play. If you’re a Halo III expert or just want to have a good time, come on out and join the fray. There’s no admission fee.

On Sunday, December 30, 10:30 AM, we are having our last preview service before our big Launch Sunday on January 6. You’re invited to come check us out and see what LifePointe is all about.

From Wednesdays to Sundays

Dec 16, 2007   //   by Rob   //   news-old  //  No Comments

With the first preview service on Sunday, December 16th, LifePointe Church nows moves to Sunday mornings exclusively. We will have two more preview services December 23 and 30. Both will start at 10:30 AM. These will lead into our official launch on Sunday morning, January 6, 2008.

Our preview services are true worship services, with the worship band playing and the pastor teaching. The equipment and the building are still a work in progress but our worship service is already clicking. These preview services give us a chance to improve and refine in anticipation of our launch.

The preview services are open to anyone who wants to come, so make plans to be with us this Sunday.

First Baptist Amory Supports LifePointe

Dec 16, 2007   //   by Rob   //   news-old  //  No Comments

We are extremely excited to announce that First Baptist Church, Amory, has come on board as a sponsoring church of LifePointe Church. It’s sometimes unusual for an established church to sponsor a new church right in its own backyard, but FBC has a vision for the expansion of God’s kingdom. We know they will continue to do that through their own church body and we’re grateful they’re confident in our pursuit of the same vision.

LifePointe Church thanks Allen Simpson, FBC’s pastor, and all the folks at First Baptist Church. We can’t wait to work together with you in impacting Amory for the glory of God.

Something Special Is Going On

Dec 12, 2007   //   by Rob   //   news-old  //  No Comments

There’s something special going on at LifePointe Church. For our last two Wednesday night gatherings, we’ve had full-blown worship services, with a live worship band and teaching afterwards. All of our chairs are filled. The Spirit’s presence is real. New families are showing up every time.

When God called us to plant LifePointe Church, He gave us a vision of us giving Him glory, making disciples, and impacting our community and the world. The vision, only an abstract a month or two ago, is now becoming real. People are worshiping. Biblical teaching is being presented. Some of the community is being changed and drawn to LifePointe. All this, and we haven’t even officially “launched”.

If you haven’t  been with us yet, we have a very special invitation for you. Even though we officially launch January 6, 2008, we’re having a special preview service this Sunday morning, December 16,at 10:30 AM. We don’t have everything in place like we will January 6, but the building is far enough along that we’re still able to worship and praise the Lord. We’re going to have church Sunday morning, December 16, 2007, and you, your family, and your friends are invited.Come check us out. Your presence does not obligate you to return. Just come out once and see what God may have for you.
